Engaged to help HIT Entertainment reimagine its annual Thomas & Friends Wooden Railway Yearbook product catalog, we created a fun, interactive collecting and sharing experience for kids and parents alike.
We created a site that is the premier web destination for the Wooden Railway brand experience and serves as a showcase for its products and promotions.
One of the many exciting features of the site is its discovery resource. Designed for the whole family, it allows for easy exploration of everything that is Wooden Railway: the brand catalog, movie trailers, demos, track-building guides and more. One can even collect their favorite products in a virtual toy chest.
More importantly, though, parents are able to safely create user accounts for their child, monitor and manage the products their child collects, and create wish lists to share with family and friends.
We collaborated with HIT and its creative partner, 1:1 Ratio, throughout the ideation and strategy phase, supporting their efforts to establish the visual and user experience design.
Based on the client’s creative work, we engineered an immersive web application with secure user account management on top of a Microsoft stack that implements a MVC architecture and is backed by loosely coupled RESTful backend services, messaging systems, and a relational database.
Over the course of the project we provided several different, yet complementary, services to achieve a successful product launch and ensure sustained user growth.
